AUBURN, IN – The Eckhart Library Foundation has fulfilled the second installment of its 2025 pledge, part of a $115,000 commitment to support the daily operations of Eckhart Public Library. Thanks to the generosity of local donors, this funding helps ensure the library remains a vibrant and reliable resource for the Auburn community.
The Foundation’s annual pledge supports essential operational needs, including staff professional development, infrastructure, and maintenance of the campus buildings and grounds. This consistent support plays a critical role in maintaining the welcoming, high-quality experience that community members have come to expect at the library.
“This pledge represents more than just funding,” said Angela Mapes Turner, President of the Eckhart Library Foundation. “It reflects our community’s pride in the library and a shared belief in the importance of keeping it strong and accessible for everyone.”
Library Director Valerie Simmons expressed deep appreciation for the continued support.
“We are grateful for every donor who makes this possible,” said Simmons. “This pledge helps us focus on what matters most—serving our community. Whether it’s offering early literacy programs, providing technology access, or simply being a place where people feel welcome, this support helps make it happen.”
The Eckhart Library Foundation works year-round to raise funds through individual giving, community events, and legacy gifts. These efforts ensure that the library can grow with the community and respond to evolving needs without sacrificing quality or accessibility.
