Auburn, IN – In October, Eckhart Library Foundation board members presented the library with a check for the third $25,000 installment of a $100,000 pledge for this year. These minimally restricted funds give Eckhart Public Library extra support to carry out its operations and maintain infrastructure.
It takes more than public dollars, which generally are directed to public-facing library materials and programming, to maintain Eckhart Public Library’s historic main library and fountain, many campus buildings, and infrastructure. The Eckhart Library Foundation, a separate nonprofit organization, is led by a board of dedicated volunteers who are passionate about the library and its impact on the community. Through generous donors, the Foundation is growing its endowment, which helps fulfil its mission to provide lasting support for Eckhart Public Library.
